Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12057

Abdullah bin Salamah narrates: It was said to Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him): Sayyiduna Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him) has withdrawn. He said: By Allah, his army will surely be disgraced; he has fled from the effort and has broken his covenant. By Allah, my view about the enemy is this: even if they were to strike you a blow that would throw the people of falsehood into doubt, and were to fight us until they drove us to the uplands of Hajar, we would know that our companions are in the right and they are upon falsehood.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
