Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 12011

Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Aqil narrates: Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred in 35 AH, and the fitnah (tribulation) lasted five years, of which four months were those of the caliphate of Sayyiduna Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him).
Abdullah recorded it, and al-Tabarani recorded it. The narrator Ibn Aqil did not live in the time of this incident, and there is a difference of opinion about him.
