كتاب الفتن - أعاذنا الله منها
Book of Tribulations (may Allah protect us from them)
بَابٌ فِيمَا كَانَ بَيْنَ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَالسُّكُوتِ عَمَّا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ .
What occurred between the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and keeping silent about their disputes

وَعَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ مَا تَلْقَى أُمَّتِي بَعْدِي وَسَفْكَ بَعْضِهِمْ ، وَسَبَقَ ذَلِكَ مِنَ اللَّهِ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - كَمَا سَبَقَ فِي الْأُمَمِ ، فَسَأَلْتُهُ أَنْ يُوَلِّيَنِي شَفَاعَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فِيهِمْ فَفَعَلَ " .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ رِوَايَةَ أَحْمَدَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ أَنْبَأَنَا أَنَسٌ عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ ، وَرِوَايَةَ الطَّبَرَانِيِّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسٍ .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَالطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَرِجَالُهُمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ رِوَايَةَ أَحْمَدَ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ أَنْبَأَنَا أَنَسٌ عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ ، وَرِوَايَةَ الطَّبَرَانِيِّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسٍ .
Sayyidah Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her) reports this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "I saw what my Ummah will face after me, and how they will shed one another's blood, and what has already been decreed about this from Allah Almighty, just as it was decreed beforehand for the nations before them. So I supplicated to Allah Almighty that He grant me intercession for them on the Day of Resurrection, and He did so."
Ahmad and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat) recorded it, and the narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih, except that in Ahmad's narration it is stated that Ibn Abi Husayn says: Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this to us from Sayyidah Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her), whereas in al-Tabarani's narration it is reported from al-Zuhri from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him).
Ahmad and al-Tabarani (in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat) recorded it, and the narrators of both are the narrators of the Sahih, except that in Ahmad's narration it is stated that Ibn Abi Husayn says: Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this to us from Sayyidah Umm Habibah (may Allah be pleased with her), whereas in al-Tabarani's narration it is reported from al-Zuhri from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him).
