Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 1193

Abdullah bin Badr narrates: The Qur'an was revealed with the command of wiping, but the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to wash, so we wash.
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir. The narrator Abdullah bin Badr is a Tabi'i (Successor), and I do not know whether the Companion was dropped by mistake, or
whether the report is like this. Its chain contains a narrator, Muhammad bin Jabir, who is da'if (weak).
