Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whatever Allah Almighty has made forbidden, He knows that someone among you will peer at it (that is, commit it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:) And I am holding you by your waists lest you fall into the Fire, as moths and flies (fall into fire)."
Ahmad and Abu Ya'la recorded it, and he narrated these words: "moths or flies, or hunzub (a kind of locust)." Its chain contains al-Mas'udi, who had become confused (mukhtalit).
