بَابٌ فِيمَنْ يَتَأَلَّى عَلَى اللَّهِ .
One who swears presumptuously by Allah

عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَهُوَ رَاكِبٌ عَلَى الْجَدْعَاءِ ، وَخَلْفَهُ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا تَأَلَّوْا عَلَى اللَّهِ [ لَا تَأَلَّوْا عَلَى اللَّهِ ] ، فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ تَأَلَّى عَلَى اللَّهِ أَكْذَبَهُ اللَّهُ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْأَلْهَانِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that he heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), at a time when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was riding (the she-camel named) "al-Jad'a'" and Sayyiduna al-Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was seated behind him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not swear oaths presuming upon Allah Almighty (i.e. saying: By Allah, so-and-so will certainly go to Hell), for whoever swears an oath presuming upon Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty proves him a liar."
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ali bin Yazid al-Alhani, who is da'if (weak).
