وَعَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ قَالَ : كُنْتُ فِي حَلْقَةٍ فِيهَا ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَذَكَرْنَا الْقَدَرَ ، فَغَضِبَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ غَضَبًا شَدِيدًا وَقَالَ : لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ فِي الْقَوْمِ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ لَأَخَذْتُهُ ، إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " مَا بَعَثَ اللَّهُ نَبِيًّا قَطُّ ثُمَّ قَبَضَهُ إِلَّا جَعَلَ بَعْدَهُ فَتْرَةً ، وَمَلَأَ مِنْ تِلْكَ الْفَتْرَةِ جَهَنَّمَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ بِإِسْنَادَيْنِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحَدِهِمَا رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ صَدَقَةَ بْنِ سَابِقٍ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ ، وَرَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ وَزَادَ " وَهُمُ الْقَدَرِيَّةُ " .
Sa'id bin Jubayr says: I was in a circle in which Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was also present. We mentioned destiny (qadar), and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) became extremely angry and said: "If I knew that among the people there was a single one of them (those who deny destiny), I would seize him. I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Whenever Allah Almighty sent a prophet and then took him back, Allah Almighty placed after that prophet a period in which no prophet came, and the people of that period will go to Hell.'"
Al-Tabarani recorded it with two chains, one of which has narrators who are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Sadaqah bin Sabiq, and he is thiqah (trustworthy).
Al-Bazzar recorded it, and he added the words: "And they are the Qadariyyah."
