Ibn Shihab reported this narration from Umarah bin Khuzaymah bin Thabit al-Ansari. Sayyiduna Khuzaymah (may Allah be pleased with him) is the Companion whose testimony the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared equal to the testimony of two men. Ibn Shihab says: Umarah bin Khuzaymah reported this from his paternal uncle, who was a Companion of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He relates: Sayyiduna Khuzaymah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) saw in a dream that he was prostrating on the forehead of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came, and he mentioned this before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) lay down, and Sayyiduna Khuzaymah (may Allah be pleased with him) prostrated on the forehead of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Ahmad recorded it from his teacher Amir bin Salih al-Zubayri, whom Ahmad and Abu Hatim declared thiqah (trustworthy) while a group declared him da'if (weak); the remaining narrators of this narration are thiqat (trustworthy).
