Majma al-Zawaid 11711 — In how long the Quran should be recited

Sayyiduna Sa'd bin al-Mundhir al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he submitted: O Messenger of Allah, may I recite the whole Qur'an in three days? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes. The narrator says: So he used to recite the Qur'an in this way until he passed away.
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Ibn Lahi'ah, whose hadith is hasan (good), though there is weakness in him. Hadiths about how long one should take to complete the Qur'an have already passed earlier in the Book of Prayer.
