عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمْ يَأْذَنْ لِمُتَرَنِّمٍ بِالْقُرْآنِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الشَّاذَكُونِيُّ وَهُوَ كَذَّابٌ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Indeed, Allah Almighty does not listen to anything as attentively as He listens to one who recites the Qur'an melodiously."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Sulayman bin Dawud al-Shadhakuni, who is kadhdhab (a liar).
