عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " عَوِّذُوا بِاللَّهِ مِنْ جُبِّ الْحَزَنِ " . قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَمَا جُبُّ الْحَزَنِ ؟ قَالَ : " جُبُّ وَادٍ فِي قَعْرِ جَهَنَّمَ تَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْهُ جَهَنَّمُ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ أَرْبَعَمِائَةِ مَرَّةٍ ، أَعَدَّهُ اللَّهُ - تَعَالَى - لِلْقُرَّاءِ الْمُرَائِينَ بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ ، وَإِنَّ أَبْغَضَ الْخَلْقِ إِلَى اللَّهِ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - قَارِئٌ يَزُورُ الْعُمَّالَ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ بُكَيْرُ بْنُ شِهَابٍ الدَّامَغَانِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ . وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَتْ أَحَادِيثُ فِيمَنْ يَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ لَا يُجَاوِزُ تَرَاقِيَهُ فِي كِتَابِ الْخَوَارِجِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) states: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came out to us and said: Seek refuge with Allah from "Jubb al-Hazan" (the Pit of Grief)! The people said: O Messenger of Allah! What is "Jubb al-Hazan"? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is a valley in Hell from which Hell itself seeks refuge four hundred times every day. Allah Almighty has prepared it (this valley) for those reciters of the Qur'an who show off with their deeds. And the most hateful of His creation in the sight of Allah Almighty are those reciters of the Qur'an who go to visit the officials of the state.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Bukayr bin Shihab al-Damighani, who is da'if (weak). Some hadiths have already passed in the book "al-Khawarij" concerning the one who will recite the Qur'an but it will not go beyond his throat.
