Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11663

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Qur'an is an intercessor whose intercession will be accepted, and an advocate whose word will be affirmed. Whoever makes it his leader, it will lead him to Paradise; and whoever throws it behind his back, it will drive him to Hell."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, al-Rabi' bin Badr, who is matruk (abandoned).
