وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " أَعْرِبُوا الْقُرْآنَ ، فَإِنَّ مَنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ فَأَعْرَبَهُ فَلَهُ بِكُلِّ حَرْفٍ عَشْرُ حَسَنَاتٍ ، وَكَفَّارَةُ عَشْرِ سَيِّئَاتٍ ، وَرَفْعُ عَشْرِ دَرَجَاتٍ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ ، وَفِيهِ نَهْشَلٌ وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Recite the Qur'an correctly! For whoever recites the Qur'an and recites it correctly will receive ten good deeds for every letter, it will become an expiation for ten of his sins, and ten of his ranks will be raised."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains a narrator, Nahshal, who is matruk (abandoned).
