Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11653

Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Qur'an has a thousand thousand and twenty-seven thousand letters. Whoever recites it with patience, hoping for its reward, will receive in return for every single letter a wife from among the Hur al-'Ayn (the wide-eyed maidens of Paradise)."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat from his teacher Muhammad bin Ubayd bin Adam bin Abi Iyas. Imam al-Dhahabi mentioned him in Mizan al-I'tidal on account of this hadith, and I have not found anyone other than him who spoke about him in this regard. The remaining narrators of this report are thiqat (trustworthy).
