عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : فُصِلَ الْقُرْآنُ مِنَ الذِّكْرِ ، فَوُضِعَ فِي بَيْتِ الْعِزَّةِ فِي السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا ، فَجَعَلَ جِبْرِيلُ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - يَتْلُوهُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يُرَتِّلُهُ تَرْتِيلًا . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، عَنْ شَيْخِهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ . وَقَدْ تَقَدَّمَتْ أَحَادِيثُ فِي سُورَةِ إِنَّا أَنْزَلْنَاهُ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Qur'an was separated from the Preserved Tablet and placed in the "House of Honour" (Bayt al-Izzah) in the lowest heaven, and then Sayyiduna Jibril (peace be upon him) kept bringing it little by little and reciting it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Al-Tabarani recorded it from his teacher Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam, who is da'if (weak). Before this, hadiths of this kind have already passed in the chapter relating to Surah al-Qadr.
