وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ فِيهِ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ مَا هُوَ مَفْتُوحٌ لِأُمَّتِي بَعْدِي فَسَرَّنِي ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ - تَعَالَى - وَلَلْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنَ الْأُولَى " . فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ ، وَفِيهِ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ ، وَلَمْ أَعْرِفْهُ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ ، وَإِسْنَادُ الْكَبِيرِ حَسَنٌ .
One of his narrations has these words: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The things that would be opened up for my Ummah after me were presented to me, and I was pleased by them. So Allah Almighty revealed this verse: 'And the Hereafter is better for you than the first (life).'" Then the narrator mentioned the hadith as before. Its chain contains a narrator, Mu'awiyah bin Abi al-Abbas, whom I do not know; the rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy), and the chain of al-Mu'jam al-Kabir is hasan (good).
