عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : لَا تُعْطِ الرَّجُلَ عَطَاءً رَجَاءَ أَنْ يُعْطِيَكَ أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُ ، وَرِجَالُ الْمُسْنَدِ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، وَفِي إِسْنَادِ الطَّبَرَانِيِّ عَطِيَّةُ الْعَوْفِيُّ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Al-Tabarani recorded it from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), who says: "Do not give a person anything in the hope that he will give you more than it." The narrators of the Musnad are the narrators of the Sahih, and the chain of al-Tabarani contains a narrator, Atiyyah al-Awfi, who is da'if (weak).
