Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Ghanm (may Allah be pleased with him) relates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about "the cruel and ignoble one ('utull, zanim)". He said: It refers to a person who is extremely ill-natured, who eats and drinks a great deal, who has ample food and drink available, who oppresses people, and whose belly is wide.
Ahmad recorded it; its chain contains a narrator, Shahr, whom a group declared thiqah (trustworthy), and there is weakness in him. According to the correct view, Sayyiduna Abd al-Rahman bin Ghanm (may Allah be pleased with him) did not have the honour of being a Companion.
