Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11299

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The houses of some of the Ansar were far from the mosque, and they intended to move near the mosque. So this verse was revealed about it: "And We record what they have sent ahead and what they leave behind (or: their footprints)." So they stayed in their own places.
Al-Tabarani recorded it from his teacher Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Sa'id bin Abi Maryam, who is da'if (weak).
