Ziyad al-Ansari narrates: I asked Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him): "If all the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had passed away, would it have been permissible for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to marry?" He said: "Why would that be forbidden for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" I said: "Because of this statement of Allah Almighty: 'Women are not lawful for you after this'" Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Allah Almighty made a particular category of women lawful for His Messenger."
Abdullah bin Ahmad recorded it. I have seen the narrator named Ziyad mentioned in Ibn Hibban's book "al-Thiqat": he is Ziyad Abu Yahya al-Ansari, who narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both). If this is the same person, then he is thiqah (trustworthy), and apparently it is the same person. And there is a narrator, Muhammad bin Abi Musa, whom Ibn Hibban mentioned in the book "al-Thiqat". The remaining narrators of this narration are the narrators of the Sahih.
