Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 11226

Mujahid, regarding this statement of Allah Almighty, said: (Allah Almighty says:) "Those people are innocent of what they (the others) say." (Mujahid said:) So whoever is good will be free of every evil word, and the forgiveness of Allah Almighty will be granted to him; and whoever is evil will be free of every good word, and Allah Almighty will turn it back upon him and will not accept good speech from him.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
