Majma al-Zawaid 11216 — The tafsir of the story of the slander
وَعَنْ قَتَادَةَ فِي قَوْلِهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ يُوَفِّيهِمُ اللَّهُ دِينَهُمُ الْحَقَّ أَهْلَ الْحَقِّ حَقَّهُمْ وَأَهْلَ الْبَاطِلِ بَاطِلَهُمْ وَيَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْحَقُّ الْمُبِينُ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ جَيِّدٌ .
Qatadah, regarding this statement of Allah Almighty, said: (Allah Almighty says:) "On that Day, Allah Almighty will pay them their recompense in full according to what is due." This means that He will recompense the people of truth according to their truth and the people of falsehood according to their falsehood. "And they will know that Allah Almighty is the Truth, and He is the One who makes the truth manifest."
