Majma al-Zawaid 11198 — The tafsir of the story of the slander
وَعَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ : الَّذِي تَوَلَّى كِبْرَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ ابْنُ سَلُولَ وَمِسْطَحُ بْنُ أُثَاثَةَ وَحَسَّانُ وَحَمْنَةُ بِنْتُ جَحْشٍ ، وَكَانَ كِبْرُ ذَلِكَ مِنْ قِبَلِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أُبَيٍّ ابْنِ سَلُولَ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ عَنْهُ وَعَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ وَإِسْنَادُهُمَا جَيِّدٌ .
Hisham bin Urwah said: (Allah Almighty says:) "The one who took the greater part in it." This refers to Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul, Mistah bin Uthathah, Hassan bin Thabit and Hamnah bint Jahsh; and of all of them, the leading part was taken by Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul.
Tabarani recorded it from him and from Mujahid, and the chains of both are jayyid (good).
