قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : وَالَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ أَزْوَاجَهُمْ .

عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - لَأَبِي بَكْرٍ : " لَوْ رَأَيْتَ مَعَ أُمِّ رُومَانَ رَجُلًا مَا كُنْتَ فَاعِلًا بِهِ ؟ " ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ وَاللَّهِ فَاعِلًا بِهِ شَرًّا . قَالَ : " فَأَنْتَ يَا عُمَرُ ؟ " ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ وَاللَّهِ قَاتِلَهُ ، كُنْتُ أَقُولُ : لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْأَعْجَزَ فَإِنَّهُ خَبِيثٌ ، قَالَ : فَنَزَلَتْ وَالَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ أَزْوَاجَهُمْ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُمْ شُهَدَاءُ إِلَّا أَنْفُسُهُمْ . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him): "If you were to find a man with Umm Ruman, what would you do?" He said: "By Allah! I would deal harshly with him." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "O Umar, what would you do?" He replied: "By Allah! I would kill him. I would say: May Allah Almighty curse this wretch, for he is vile." The narrator said: Then this verse was revealed concerning this: "And those who accuse their wives and have no witnesses except themselves."
