وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، إِذَا تَوَضَّأْتَ فَقُلْ : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ، فَإِنْ حَفَظَتَكَ لَا تَبْرَحُ تَكْتُبُ لَكَ الْحَسَنَاتِ حَتَّى تُحْدِثَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْوُضُوءِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ ، وَإِسْنَادُهُ حَسَنٌ .

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abu Hurayrah! When you perform ablution, say 'Bismillah wal-hamdu lillah' (In the name of Allah, and all praise is for Allah); your guardian angels will keep recording good deeds for you until that ablution of yours is broken."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this report in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir, and its chain is hasan (good).
