عَنْ زِرٍّ قَالَ : سُئِلَ ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ عَنِ الْأَوَّاهِ ، قَالَ : الدَّعَّاءُ . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عَاصِمٌ وَهُوَ ثِقَةٌ ، وَقَدْ ضُعِّفَ .
Zirr narrates: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about the word "awwah," and he said: "One who supplicates very much."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains a narrator, Asim, and he is thiqah (trustworthy), though he has been declared da'if (weak).
