Book of Tafsir
قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : وَأَذَانٌ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ إِلَى النَّاسِ يَوْمَ الْحَجِّ الْأَكْبَرِ .
The saying of Allah the Exalted: "And it is an announcement from Allah and His Messenger to the people on the day of the greater Hajj"

عَنْ سَمُرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ : " يَوْمُ الْحَجِّ الْأَكْبَرِ يَوْمَ حَجَّ أَبُو بَكْرٍ بِالنَّاسِ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ هِشَامٍ قَالَ : وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي .
Sayyiduna Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The day of the Greater Hajj is the day on which Abu Bakr led the people in Hajj."
Imam al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih, except for Mu'adh bin Hisham; he says: "I found this in my father's writing."
