قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى : فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِشَهِيدٍ

عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ فَضَالَةَ الظَّفَرِيِّ ، وَكَانَ مِمَّنْ صَحِبَ النَّبِيَّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَتَاهُمْ فِي مَسْجِدِ بَنِي ظَفَرٍ ، فَجَلَسَ عَلَى الصَّخْرَةِ الَّتِي فِي مَسْجِدِ بَنِي ظَفَرٍ الْيَوْمَ وَمَعَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ وَمُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ وَأُنَاسٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ ، وَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَارِئًا فَقَرَأَ حَتَّى أَتَى عَلَى هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ : ( فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِشَهِيدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ شَهِيدًا ) فَبَكَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - حَتَّى اضْطَرَبَ لَحْيَاهُ ، فَقَالَ : " أَيْ رَبِّ ، شَهِدْتُ عَلَى مَنْ أَنَا بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَيْهِ ، فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ لَمْ أَرَ ؟ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Fadalah al-Zafari (may Allah be pleased with him), who was one of the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrated: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to them in the mosque of Banu Zafar. He sat on the rock in the mosque of Banu Zafar which is still there today. With him were Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) and other Companions. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed a reciter, and he began reciting until he reached this verse: "How will it be when We bring from every nation a witness, and bring you as a witness over all of these?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to weep until his blessed beard trembled. He said: "I am a witness over them as long as I am present among them; how will I be a witness for those whom I have not even seen?"
