Majma al-Zawaid — Hadith 10887

Abdullah bin Yazid bin Adam narrates: Sayyiduna Abu al-Darda (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Wathilah bin al-Asqa' (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated this to me. They related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked: Who are those firmly grounded in knowledge? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The person whose oath is true, whose tongue is truthful, and whose private parts and stomach are chaste; that person is the one firmly grounded in knowledge."
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and the narrator Abdullah bin Yazid is da'if (weak).
