وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ - أَنَّهُ قَرَأَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ - بِالْأَلِفِ - غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ ، خَفْضٍ ، رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ الْفَيَّاضُ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ ، وَجَمَاعَةٌ لَمْ أَعْرِفْهُمْ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he recited before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) the word "Maliki yawm al-din" (Master of the Day of Judgement), that is, with an alif, and recited "ghayri al-maghdubi alayhim" (not of those who earned wrath), that is, with a kasrah.
Allamah al-Haythami says: Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains al-Fayyad bin Ghazwan, who is da'if (weak), and besides him a group of narrators whom I do not know.
