Sayyiduna Amr bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever ascribes his clientship (wala') to someone other than his patrons, the curse of Allah Almighty and His wrath will be upon him on the Day of Resurrection, and Allah Almighty will not accept any obligatory or voluntary worship from him. Whoever kills someone other than his killer, the curse of Allah Almighty and His wrath will be upon him on the Day of Resurrection, and Allah Almighty will not accept any obligatory or voluntary worship from him. And whoever introduces an innovation or gives shelter to an innovator, the curse of Allah Almighty and His wrath will be upon him on the Day of Resurrection, and Allah Almighty will not accept any obligatory or voluntary worship from him."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Kathir bin Abdullah; the majority declared him da'if (weak), though al-Tirmidhi graded one of his hadith as hasan (good).
