وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " يَا أَهْلَ قُبَاءَ ، مَا هَذَا الطَّهُورُ الَّذِي قَدْ خُصِّصْتُمْ بِهِ فِي هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ : ( فِيهِ رِجَالٌ يُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يَتَطَهَّرُوا وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الْمُطَّهِّرِينَ ) . قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا مِنَّا أَحَدٌ يَخْرُجُ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ إِلَّا غَسَلَ مَقْعَدَتَهُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الْأَوْسَطِ وَالْكَبِيرِ ، وَفِيهِ شَهْرٌ أَيْضًا .

Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O people of Quba! What is that particular method of attaining purification because of which you have been specially mentioned in this verse: 'In it (the mosque) are men who love to purify themselves thoroughly, and Allah Almighty loves those who purify themselves thoroughly.'" They said: O Messenger of Allah! Whoever among us relieves himself washes his private part.
Imam al-Tabarani recorded this narration in al-Mu'jam al-Awsat and al-Mu'jam al-Kabir, and its chain also contains the narrator Shahr.
