وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " لَا يَنْظُرُ اللَّهُ إِلَى الْأُشَيْمِطِ الزَّانِي ، وَلَا الْعَائِلِ الْمَزْهُوِّ " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ وَحَدِيثُهُ حَسَنٌ وَفِيهِ ضَعْفٌ ، وَبَقِيَّةُ رِجَالِهِ ثِقَاتٌ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty will not look at the old fornicator, nor at the arrogant poor man."
Al-Tabarani recorded it. Its chain contains Ibn Lahi'ah; his hadith is hasan (good), though there is weakness in him. The rest of its narrators are thiqat (trustworthy).
