وَعَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - : " إِذَا ظُلِمَ أَهْلُ الذِّمَّةِ كَانَتِ الدَّوْلَةُ دَوْلَةَ الْعَدُوِّ ، وَإِذَا كَثُرَ الزِّنَا كَثُرَ السَّبَا ، وَإِذَا كَثُرَ اللُّوطِيَّةُ رَفَعَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَدَهُ عَنِ الْخَلْقِ فَلَا يُبَالِي فِي أَيِّ وَادٍ هَلَكُوا " . رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ عَبْدُ الْخَالِقِ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the people under protection (ahl al-dhimmah) are wronged, power passes to the enemy; when fornication becomes widespread, captives become numerous; and when the deed of the people of Lut becomes widespread, Allah Almighty lifts His hand from the creation, and then He does not care in which valley they perish."
