Warning against committing acts that incur prescribed punishments

عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - يَقُولُ : " أَنَا آخِذٌ بِحُجُزِكُمْ أَقُولُ : إِيَّاكُمْ وَجَهَنَّمَ ، إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْحُدُودَ ، إِيَّاكُمْ وَجَهَنَّمَ ، إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْحُدُودَ ، إِيَّاكُمْ وَجَهَنَّمَ ، إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْحُدُودَ - ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ - فَإِذَا أَنَا مُتُّ تَرَكْتُكُمْ ، وَأَنَا فَرَطُكُمْ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ ، فَمَنْ وَرَدَ أَفْلَحَ " . قُلْتُ : فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ . رَوَاهُ الْبَزَّارُ ، وَفِيهِ لَيْثُ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمٍ وَالْغَالِبُ عَلَيْهِ الضَّعْفُ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "I hold you by your waists and say to you: Beware of Hell! Beware of committing what incurs the prescribed punishments (hudud)! Beware of Hell! Beware of committing what incurs the prescribed punishments! Beware of Hell! Beware of committing what incurs the prescribed punishments!" He said this three times. (Then he said:) "When I die, I will leave you, and I will be your forerunner at the Pond (al-Hawd); whoever arrives there will be successful." The narrator says: After this he mentioned the full hadith.
