عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ - وَكَانَ شَيْخًا قَدِيمًا - قَالَ : كُنَّا مَعَ طَاوُسٍ عِنْدَ الْمَقَامِ ، فَسَمِعْنَا ضَوْضَاءَ ، فَقَالَ : مَا هَذَا ؟ فَقِيلَ : قَوْمٌ أَخَذَهُمُ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ فِي سَبَبٍ فَطَوَّفَهُمْ .
فَسَمِعْتُ طَاوُسًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ :
" مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُحْدِثُ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ حَدَثًا لَمْ يَكُنْ ، فَيَمُوتُ حَتَّى يُصِيبَهُ ذَلِكَ " .
فَأَنَا رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ هِشَامٍ حِينَ عُزِلَ وَوُلِّيَ عُمَّالُ الْوَلِيدِ فَطَوَّفُوهُ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ غَيْرَ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ سِيسٍ ، وَوَثَّقَهُ ابْنُ حِبَّانَ .
فَسَمِعْتُ طَاوُسًا يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ :
" مَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُحْدِثُ فِي هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ حَدَثًا لَمْ يَكُنْ ، فَيَمُوتُ حَتَّى يُصِيبَهُ ذَلِكَ " .
فَأَنَا رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ هِشَامٍ حِينَ عُزِلَ وَوُلِّيَ عُمَّالُ الْوَلِيدِ فَطَوَّفُوهُ .

Bishr bin Ubaydullah, who was an elderly shaykh, narrates: We were with Tawus near the Maqam of Ibrahim when we heard a commotion. He asked: "What is this?" We said: "Ibn Hisham arrested some people for an offence, and now he is having them paraded around." The narrator says: Then I heard Tawus narrate this hadith from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is no one who introduces into this Ummah something new that did not exist before, except that he will not die until that same thing befalls him." The narrator says: Then I saw Ibn Hisham when he was dismissed and the governors appointed by al-Walid took over, and they had him paraded around too.
Al-Tabarani recorded it, and its narrators are the narrators of the Sahih except Salamah bin Sis, whom Ibn Hibban declared thiqah (trustworthy).
