بَابٌ فِي النَّاسِي وَالْمُكْرَهِ
The one who forgets and the one who is coerced
Majma al-Zawaid 10504 — The one who forgets and the one who is coerced
وَعَنْ ثَوْبَانَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - قَالَ :
" إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَجَاوَزَ عَنْ أُمَّتِي ثَلَاثَةً : الْخَطَأُ ، وَالنِّسْيَانُ ، وَمَا أُكْرِهُوا عَلَيْهِ " .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ ، وَفِيهِ : يَزِيدُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ الرَّحْبِيُّ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفٌ .
" إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَجَاوَزَ عَنْ أُمَّتِي ثَلَاثَةً : الْخَطَأُ ، وَالنِّسْيَانُ ، وَمَا أُكْرِهُوا عَلَيْهِ " .

Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Indeed, Allah Almighty has pardoned my Ummah for three things: mistakes, forgetfulness, and what they are compelled to do."
