وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ :
لَقَدْ عَلِمَ أُولُو الْعِلْمِ مِنْ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَعَائِشَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ . فَسَأَلُوهَا أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ ذِي الثُّدَيَّةِ مَلْعُونُونَ عَلَى لِسَانِ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ : إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ النَّهْرَوَانِ .
رَوَاهُ الطَّبَرَانِيُّ فِي الصَّغِيرِ وَالْأَوْسَطِ بِإِسْنَادَيْنِ ، وَرِجَالُ أَحَدِهِمَا ثِقَاتٌ .

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The people of knowledge from the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and Sayyidah Aishah bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with them both), know that the companions of Dhu al-Thudayyah have been declared accursed by the tongue of the unlettered Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). In one narration the words are: The people of Nahrawan (have been declared accursed by the tongue of the unlettered Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)).
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Saghir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat with two chains, the narrators of one of which are thiqat (trustworthy).
