Sayyiduna Talq bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once we were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said to us: "Soon some people will come who will recite the Qur'an, but it will not go beyond their throats. They will pass out of the religion just as an arrow passes through the target. Glad tidings for the one who kills them, and glad tidings also for the one whom they kill." The narrator says: Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) turned toward me and said: "Soon they will emerge from the land of your people, O man of Yamamah, and they will fight between the rivers." I said: "May my father and mother be ransomed for you, there are no rivers there." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Soon there will be."
Al-Tabarani recorded it through Ali bin Yahya bin Isma'il from his father, and I do not know either of them.
