عَنْ عَامِرٍ - يَعْنِي الشَّعْبِيَّ - بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - جَيْشَ ذَاتِ السَّلَاسِلِ ، فَاسْتَعْمَلَ أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ عَلَى الْمُهَاجِرِينَ ، وَاسْتَعْمَلَ عَمْرَو بْنَ الْعَاصِ عَلَى الْأَعْرَابِ فَقَالَ لَهُمَا : " تَطَاوَعَا " .
قَالَ : وَكَانُوا يُؤْمَرُونَ أَنْ يُغِيرُوا عَلَى بَكْرٍ ، فَانْطَلَقَ عَمْرٌو فَأَغَارَ عَلَى قُضَاعَةَ ; لِأَنَّ بَكْرًا أَخْوَالُهُ ، فَانْطَلَقَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ إِلَى أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - اسْتَعْمَلَكَ عَلَيْنَا ، وَإِنَّ ابْنَ فُلَانٍ قَدِ ارْتَبَعَ أَمْرَ الْقَوْمِ وَلَيْسَ لَكَ مَعَهُ أَمْرٌ . فَقَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَتَطَاوَعَ ، فَأَنَا أُطِيعُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَإِنْ عَصَاهُ عَمْرٌو .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَهُوَ مُرْسَلٌ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
قَالَ : وَكَانُوا يُؤْمَرُونَ أَنْ يُغِيرُوا عَلَى بَكْرٍ ، فَانْطَلَقَ عَمْرٌو فَأَغَارَ عَلَى قُضَاعَةَ ; لِأَنَّ بَكْرًا أَخْوَالُهُ ، فَانْطَلَقَ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ إِلَى أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - اسْتَعْمَلَكَ عَلَيْنَا ، وَإِنَّ ابْنَ فُلَانٍ قَدِ ارْتَبَعَ أَمْرَ الْقَوْمِ وَلَيْسَ لَكَ مَعَهُ أَمْرٌ . فَقَالَ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نَتَطَاوَعَ ، فَأَنَا أُطِيعُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - وَإِنْ عَصَاهُ عَمْرٌو .
رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ ، وَهُوَ مُرْسَلٌ ، وَرِجَالُهُ رِجَالُ الصَّحِيحِ .
Amir al-Sha'bi narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent an army to Dhat al-Salasil. He appointed Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) as commander of the Muhajirun, and appointed Sayyiduna Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) as commander of the Bedouins. He said to the two of them: "Both of you obey each other." The narrator says: Those people had been ordered to attack the tribe of Bakr. Sayyiduna Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) set off and attacked the tribe of Quda'ah, because the people of the tribe of Bakr were his maternal relatives. Sayyiduna al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah (may Allah be pleased with him) went to Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: "The Messenger of Allah appointed you as our commander, and the son of so-and-so has spoiled the situation, although in your presence he has no right to do this." So Sayyiduna Abu Ubaydah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "The Messenger of Allah ordered us to obey each other, so I will obey the Messenger of Allah, even if Amr has gone against it."
