Yazid bin Malik narrates from his father that he was present with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the Day of the Tree (that is, at the Treaty of al-Hudaybiyah) and on the day of the sacrificial animals, when they were held back before reaching their place. A man from the polytheists said: "O Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)! What has prompted you to bring these people against us while we dislike it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These people are better than you and your forefathers. They believe in Allah Almighty and the Last Day. By the One in whose Hand of Power is my soul, Allah Almighty is pleased with them."
Al-Tabarani recorded it in al-Mu'jam al-Kabir and al-Mu'jam al-Awsat; its chain contains Ishaq bin Idris, who is matruk (abandoned).
