Sayyiduna Jundub bin Najiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) (the narrator is in doubt; perhaps the words are:) Sayyiduna Najiyah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When we were at the place "al-Ghamim", the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) received news about Quraysh that they had sent Khalid bin al-Walid with some horsemen to confront the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not like to fight them, because he was compassionate towards them. He said: "Is there anyone who can take us off the road?" I said: "May my father be sacrificed for you! I will do it." Then I took those people along another route which was difficult to pass and had mountain passes in it, until, when we came to level ground, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) halted at the place "al-Hudaybiyah". It was a well that had dried up. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took out one or two arrows from his quiver, put his blessed saliva into it, then he supplicated, and springs gushed forth from it, until I was thinking (the narrator is in doubt; perhaps the words are:) we were thinking that if we wished, we could take water from it with our hands.
Al-Tabarani recorded it; its chain contains Musa bin Ubaydah, who is da'if (weak).
