Sunan Ibn Majah 1079 — Concerning one who does not perform Prayer
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَالِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْعَهْدُ الَّذِي بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُمُ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَمَنْ تَرَكَهَا فَقَدْ كَفَرَ " .
´‘Abdullah bin Buraidah narrated that his father said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘The covenant that distinguishes between us and them is prayer; so whoever leaves it, he has committed Kufr.’”

and when they abandon the prayer, then the rulings for disbelievers will be applied to them,
because the covenant between us and them is the prayer,
and when the prayer is abandoned, it is as if the covenant has ended.
