حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قَالَ : ثنا ابْنُ الطَّبَّاعِ ، قَالَ : ثنا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا وَقَعَتْ رَمِيَّتُكَ فِي مَاءٍ فَغَرِقَ فَلا تَأْكُلْ " .
Sayyiduna ‘Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: If your game (which has been struck by an arrow) falls into water and drowns, then do not eat it. (It is possible that it died due to drowning in the water.)
