حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ ، قَالَ : ثنا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، قَالَ : ثني عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَدِيُّ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَرْمِي الصَّيْدَ فَأَطْلُبُ أَثَرَهُ بَعْدَ لَيْلَةٍ فَأَجِدُ فِيهِ سَهْمِي ؟ قَالَ : " إِنْ وَجَدْتَهُ وَفِيهِ سَهْمُكَ ، وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ مِنْهُ سَبْعٌ فَكُلْ " ، قَالَ : فَذَكَرْتُهُ لأَبِي بِشْرٍ ، فَقَالَ : عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ عَدِيٍّ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : إِذَا وَجَدْتَ فِيهِ سَهْمَكَ وَلَمْ تَرَ فِيهِ أَثَرَ أَمْرٍ غَيْرِهِ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ قَتَلَهُ فَكُلْ .
Sayyiduna ‘Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I said: O Messenger of Allah! I shoot an arrow at game, then after a night I find it, and my arrow is still in it (so what should I do)? He said: If you find the game and your arrow is still in it, and no predatory animal has eaten from it, then you may eat it. Shu’bah says: I narrated this hadith before Abu Bishr, so he narrated to me from ‘Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you find your arrow in it and do not find any other mark besides it, and you are certain that it died from that arrow, then you may eat it.
