Al-Muntaqa Ibn al-Jarud 824 — Amputation for theft
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُقْرِئِ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ ، قَالا : ثنا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَقْطَعُ فِي رُبُعِ دِينَارٍ فَصَاعِدًا " .
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to cut off the hand for stealing a quarter dinar or more.
