Al-Lu'lu' wal-Marjan 93 — Obligation to Believe in the Prophethood
93 صحيح حديث أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا مِنَ الأَنْبِيَاءِ نَبِيٌّ إِلاَّ أُعْطِيَ مَا مِثْلُهُ آمَنَ عَلَيْهِ الْبَشَرُ، وَإِنَّمَا كَانَ الَّذِي أُوتِيتُهُ وَحْيًا أَوْحَاهُ اللهُ إِلَيَّ، فَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَكْثَرَهُمْ تَابِعًا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
Narrated Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Every prophet was given such and such miracles that (upon seeing them) people believed in them, (but) their effect did not remain (in later times). And the miracle that was given to me is the revelation (the Qur'an) which Allah has sent down to me. (Its effect will remain until the Day of Resurrection.) Therefore, I hope that on the Day of Resurrection, my followers will be more than the followers of other prophets.
