189 صحيح حديث عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ غُسْلِهَا مِنَ الْمَحِيضِ، فَأَمَرَهَا كَيْفَ تَغْتَسِلُ، قَالَ: خُذِي فِرْصَةَ مِنْ مِسْكٍ فَتَطَهَّرِي بِهَا، قَالَتْ: كَيْفَ أَتَطَهَّرُ بِهَا قَالَ: تَطَهَّرِي بِهَا، قَالَتْ: كَيْفَ قَالَ: سُبْحانَ اللهِ تَطَهَّرِي بِهَا فَاجْتَبَذْتُهَا إِلَيَّ، فَقُلْتُ تَتَبَعِي بِهَا أَثَرَ الدَّمِ
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that an (Ansari) woman asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) how she should perform the ritual bath after menstruation. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take a cloth scented with musk and purify yourself with it. She asked: How should I purify myself with it? He replied: Purify yourself with it. She asked again: How? He said: Glory be to Allah! Purify yourself. Then I pulled her towards myself and said: Wipe the places stained with blood with it.
Brief Explanation
The manner of this ritual bath (ghusl) is described in the narration of Muslim as follows: Attain purity thoroughly, then pour water over your head so that the water reaches the roots of the hair, then pour water over the entire body. (Raaz)
