Sayyiduna Abu Ja'far narrated that he and his father (Sayyiduna Zain al-Abidin) were with Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), and some other people were also sitting there. Those people asked him about ghusl (ritual bath), so he said that one sa’ (a measure) is sufficient. Upon this, a person said, "This would not be enough for me." Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "It was sufficient for those who had more hair than you and who were better than you (i.e., the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him)." Then Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) led us in prayer wearing only one garment.

Brief Explanation
The person who spoke was Hasan bin Muhammad bin Hanafiyyah (i.e., the grandson of Sayyiduna Ali radi Allahu anhu). Sayyiduna Jabir radi Allahu anhu admonished him sternly. From this, it is understood that those who make frivolous objections against hadith should be admonished strictly, and it is in no way permissible to employ personal opinion, analogy (qiyas), or interpretation (ta'wil) in opposition to hadith.
