Al-Fath ar-Rabbani 9359 — on encouragement to patience in the face
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ يُشَاكُ بِشَوْكَةٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا يَحْتَسِبُهَا إِلَّا قُصِّرَ بِهَا مِنْ خَطَايَاهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whenever a believer is pricked by a thorn in this world and he endures it with the intention of reward, then because of this, his sins will be reduced on the Day of Resurrection.
